Imagine the next Democratic president writes an executive order outlawing AR 15s and requiring people give them up. Citing whatever reason that person wants, it doesn’t even have to be a good reason . Now because of the SCOTUS ruling, the first district court ruling on that hypothetical executive order can’t stop the law from going into effect everywhere but just for that district or that state. That is what our current reality is now. The 14th amendment is clear. It doesn’t say children of citizens born here are citizens, it says people and there’s a reason for that. It has been challenged and settled in caselaw. It is undeniable. So as unconstitutional as Trump‘s order is, imagine a future unconstitutional one from a Democrat. That’s why you should be unhappy with this SCOTUS decision.
